French embassy counsellor visits acatech
Munich, 17 July 2020
Pascal Revel, Embassy Counsellor for Science and Technology, visited the acatech office at Karolinenplatz in Munich on 6 July with a delegation from the French Embassy in Germany. He acknowledged the intensive scientific and technological cooperation between France and Germany and stressed its importance for the scientific research and the technological development in the EU.
The focus was in particular on the energy transition and on dealing with the consequences of the corona pandemic with the help of innovative technology. The participants discussed the acatech IMPULSE on the corona crisis. Embassy counsellor Pascal Revel emphasised the key role of digitalisation in combating the corona pandemic and strengthening the health care system. Regardless of whether energy, digitisation, artificial intelligence or green IT, the group found many points of contact for the Franco-German technology cooperation. An even more intensive bilateral cooperation between the two countries within the framework of Germany’s EU Council Presidency and beyond was a common interest.
The French Embassy was represented by Hervé Martin, Attaché for Science and University Cooperation for Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, and Mathilde Lanciaux, Policy Officer for Science and Technology in Bavaria. Diana XU introduced the event as Scientific Officer at acatech.
