Quality management
When it was founded in 2008, the National Academy of Science and Engineering established a number of basic quality assurance rules and processes for its work. In addition to the review procedure and the procedure for the authorisation of project results by the Executive Board, these included rules regarding the transparency of project work, the publication of the results and project funding.
These rules and processes were subsequently refined and expanded, eventually providing input for the quality management system that was developed in 2012/13. The QM system and QM guide were approved by the Executive Board on 11 February 2014.
acatech has progressed and evolved in recent years. This has resulted in modifications, additions and clarifications to the quality management system, all of which are designed to facilitate a more efficient way of working and a reliable quality assurance system. This in turn is intended to enable acatech to provide timely results and thus expand its influence. The acatech Quality Management Handbook was therefore revised in 2020 and 2022. Version 2.1 of the handbook was published in November 2022.
