TechnikRadar 2022: What Do Germans Think about Technology?
The TechnikRadar (Technology Radar) is an annual representative survey of the German population, developed in line with standards in the social sciences and evaluated using empirical social research methods. It is conducted by acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering, Körber-Stiftung and ZIRIUS – Center for Interdisciplinary Risk and Innovation Studies at the University of Stuttgart. It serves as a long-range early-warning system, flagging technological wrong turns in good time and pinpointing special areas where communication is needed.
The TechnikRadar 2022 focuses on how Germans view the possibilities that the digital transformation holds for the health system. Because research has extensive access to medical data, some people hope that the digital transformation will bring new therapies as well as much better healthcare, while others fear that the growing flood of data will result in a goldfish bowl effect in healthcare. 2011 randomly selected German speakers over the age of 16 were interviewed by telephone. An online survey was specially conducted to obtain the views of 200 doctors.
