Open Source a Driver of Innovation for Industry 4.0 (Expert Report)

In the new expert report “Open Source a Driver of Innovation for Industry 4.0” from the Research Council of Plattform Industrie 4.0, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML and the Chair for Industrial Information Management at TU Dortmund present the opportunities and potential of Open Source Software (OSS) for production. Based on surveys of experts in companies, the report comes up with courses of action for industry, policy makers and scientists. The accompanying guideline on open source for business is directed specifically at industry leaders.
