From Data to AI (White Paper)

Whether satellite images as data sources for navigation systems or holiday photos on social media platforms – data has become a central raw material in our increasingly digitalised world. The availability of data and intelligent data management are key prerequisites for bringing learning systems into use. In a current white paper, members of the working group Technological Enablers and Data Science of Plattform Lernende Systeme discuss the importance of data science processes as well as data management technologies for AI and identify important areas of expertise. The white paper also shows approaches to make data more efficient and effective for society in the future and to promote the understanding of data science processes and data management technologies in our society. In addition, it outlines options for action to better exploit the potential benefits of the interface discipline of data science in the future.
