Developing and Applying Large Language Models (White Paper)

The economic potential of large AI language models is very promising. Not only their adaptability to a wide range of industry- and company-specific requirements, but also their high reusability open up countless use cases for and in companies. However, models from the USA and China are currently the main drivers of rapid technological progress. The white paper uses practical examples to illustrate the opportunities and challenges of language models and analyzes the conditions under which companies can leverage the potential of the technology with confidence and legal certainty. The authors recommend the creation of an open, commercially usable data set in German that complies with European values and rules and supports the development of language models in Germany.
