Research Council Industrie 4.0 to award contract related to the engineering of Industrie 4.0 systems with adaptive autonomy
Munich, 08 February 2023
Industrie 4.0 will be defined by smart, flexible devices, machines and systems with adaptive autonomy. But how exactly will Industrie 4.0 systems that can adapt autonomously change production? The Research Council, which is coordinated by acatech, would like to answer this and other questions in an expert report and, to this end, is awarding an R&D contract. Universities, universities of applied science, colleges and extramural research institutions are invited to submit a proposal by 8 March 2023.
It is envisaged that the expert report will show how modern systems engineering for Industrie 4.0 systems with adaptive autonomy differs from traditional engineering in relation to production. Industrie 4.0 systems with adaptive autonomy are systems that can carry out activities independently and largely without human intervention, and are highly adaptive. In the report, existing solutions in leading companies are to serve as best practices, and obstacles and barriers to adoption are to be presented. The aim of the expert report is to formulate specific courses of action for policymakers, science and business. In total, EUR 90,000.00 in public funding is available for the R&D contract.
