39 leading scientists join the ranks of acatech
Munich, 06 December 2023
acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering can now draw upon the proven expertise of an additional 39 members in providing science-based advice to policymakers and society. All of the newly elected scientists have accepted the voluntary appointment, which also recognises their outstanding contribution to science.
The scientific accomplishments and reputation of its members form the basis for the Academy’s comprehensive advisory service. The new members were elected to the Academy at the General Assembly in October 2023. They consolidate and expand acatech’s scientific expertise in specialist fields such as human-centred AI, biotechnology, biochemical engineering, digital engineering, construction chemistry and quantum optics.
acatech President Jan Wörner:
“I extend a warm welcome to the new members of acatech. The range of topics of the future is increasing and the requirements for interdisciplinary cooperation are growing. In this dynamic environment, the proven excellence of acatech’s members will ensure and enhance the quality and relevance of the science-based advice that acatech provides to policymakers and society, for which I would like to thank all members.”
