Economics and Innovation Research Working Group
acatech’s Economics and Innovation Research Working Group addresses the need for a stronger systemic approach to science-based policy advice on issues relating to innovation and value creation. The deliberate combination of the technical and natural sciences with economics, social sciences and humanities in acatech projects reflects a modern and holistic understanding of innovation, whereby technological issues are always viewed in the context of economics and society.
In its sessions, the working group identifies new topics focusing on economics and innovation, and applies its expertise to the support of project work in the programme areas. It has members in the following areas of expertise, among others:
- Energy, resource and environmental economics
- Entrepreneurship, technology and innovation management
- Knowledge management and metrics
- Economics of education and growth
- Economic policy, finance and political economics
