Digital formats from BR, ZEIT ONLINE and Tagesspiegel shortlisted for PUNKT journalism prize

Many excellent submissions were made for this year’s PUNKT journalism prize. In the Digital category, the panel selected contributions from BR, ZEIT ONLINE and Tagesspiegel. In the Foto (photography) category, two series and one individual photograph were shortlisted. The winners of the categories Digital, Foto and Fotostipendium (a photography grant, the theme of which is “Build, Reside, Live”) will be announced on 25 October 2023 at the WISSENSWERTE science journalism fair in Freiburg.
The prestigious panel composed of representatives of journalism, science, media and photography deliberated on the submissions. The judges placed special emphasis on the original treatment of the subject of technology with content that is precise, aesthetic and can be understood by all.

The Digital category recognises online journalism formats whose treatment of their technology subjects is substantively precise, aesthetic and can be understood by all. Eligible entries in this category are formats that embrace new forms of digital journalism or combine different forms in exemplary fashion.
In the Foto category up to three single images and/or one series of photos could be submitted. acatech is also giving a grant for a photo reportage, the theme of which this year is “Build, Reside, Live”.
