Topic network Mobility, Logistics and Aerospace Engineering

As an integral part of modern societies and economies, mobility is closely intertwined with spatial structures and the functions of our cities. This is a very different way of seeing things to that of traditional transport research. Rather than growth in transport per se, it is high levels of mobility that are the key to socioeconomic development – in other words, extensive participation opportunities for the public and specialised, innovative transport processes for business.

Logistics provides the services required for value creation and trade. It involves the planning, coordination and management of supply and waste disposal processes in manufacturing industry, as well as the distribution of goods in the retail and service sectors. Logistics services thus enable trade and commerce and manage the associated information.

In the field of aerospace engineering, the topic network mainly addresses strategic themes such as aircraft systems and flight dynamics and control, where the structures and designs, propulsion systems, aerothermodynamics and human factors are closely connected.
